Clicking on the support link, near the top right of this page, takes you to a list of linux consultants. For a while there, it was basically unusable, due to style issues, but now the amazing jamonation has got it up and sparkling, once again. If you're looking for help, or want to offer your Open Source related consulting services, check it out.
if I understand correctly, (and I seldom do) right now, the consultants listing is the output of a database relating to a custom content type; consultant.
Instead, should it not be simply based on extended user data, and display in the support listing if a) support field(s) is(are) not null, and b) the "be included in support listings ?" checkbox is checked, or the "tutor" checkbox, for that matter ?
We've put up a free IT support personnel listing service at linuxcaffe.ca/support
If you need technical support, you'll find some here.
If you want to offer support services, go ahead and list them here.
The service is new and evolving, so your feedback is important.
Thanks !
linuxcaffe now has free listings of support personnel !
It's the digital cavalry, riding over the hill !
Support is available in many forms;
- from software vendor
- enthusiasts/ user groups
For many open source vendors, like Red Hat, IBM and Novell, support and service are the key elements in their business model. When you buy a solution from them, you will have an option to get varying levels of support. If you already payed for it, use it !
