Wednesday May 21: Tim Posgate (banjo, vocals) and Johann Lotter (guitar, vocals) have lived in the neighborhood for ten years but only met recently at a party where they ended up picking bluegrass songs together until their host had to kick them out. Since then they have been getting together a semi regular basis to play, sing and teach each other new songs.
Johann is best known in local bluegrass circles for his work with Wrecking Yard and his day job is playing viola for the National Ballet Orchestra.
Tim also plays guitar, lap steel and mandolin and recently is focused on his banjo playing. He has recorded seven Cds of mostly instrumental, original jazz music for Guildwood Records including the Tim Posgate Hornband featuring Howard Johnson.
