June 18: Born and raised in Whycocomagh, Nova Scotia, Ralph is a Cape Bretoner through and through. He maintains a keen passion for music and entertaining the public. His family also has a love for writing and playing music and it was that influence that first got Ralph interested in writing poetry and eventually songs. Kitchen parties have always been a tradition of Cape Breton Island and it was during those evenings that his passion for entertaining began to come alive.

Summer Solstice is just a few days away. Come on out the Linux Caffe and enjoy soulful, deep house music. Brought to you, with love, by DJ Tim Dee.

Yakoba first picked up a super-shitty green, warped-ass guitar at 18. Oddly enough, he wrote song lyrics and harmonies long before that memorable purchase. Hence, he has always considered himself more of a lyricist/singer with an educational message to convey, than a guitar virtuoso. Luckily, he kept the receipt from the warped guitar and was able to purchase 'The Traveler' - his Korean Cort Earth 100 acoustic by paying the Niagara dealer an extra 100$ CDN.

With a surge of Nationalistic pride, and the need to plug up some holes in the dam, the beavers at linuxcaffe will be busy elsewhere (and/or flopped on a couch) and linuxcaffe will be CLOSED FOR TWO WHOLE DAYS, Monday (June 30th) and Tuesday (July 1st) and you may have to get coffee and fresh baked goods, home-made goodness and friendly help with your linux laptop, somewhere else until Wednesday. So sorry for any inconvenience, and when you return, we'll have updated plumbing, electrical and ventilation features, you shouldn't have noticed, anyways.

July 3: Join us for an evening of contemporary folk music with Marni Levitt. It's her birthday!! Marni rocked the cafe last time and we're very excited to have her back again. (Influences: jazz, international, RnB, indie) rhythm guitar and soulful voice.
